Area Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then located many other vandalized cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state preliminary tests suggest the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its source; investigators are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
A high-ranking political figure commented the incident rendered him stunned and needed to be solved quickly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the murder of nine people by a gunman focusing on people of immigrant origin in 2020.
